Proc file system

/proc file system contains the pseudo file system and provides the detailed hardware information.

In the /proc directory you can find various files like following

meminfo: this file contains the information of memory

cpuinfo: this files contains the CPU related information

ioports: this file contains the IO ports info

interrupts: this file contains the info related to interrupts.
